Movreak is The Best Local Mobile Application

At least that’s what Sinyal’s Indonesia Cellular Award (ICA) 2011 has awarded to Movreak. ICA 2011 was held on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Jakarta Convention Center as part of Indonesia Cellular Show 2011 event. ICA 2011 awarded 15 awards categories, The Best Local Mobile Application among the others.

For The Best Local Mobile Application, the nominees are:

Those nominees are awesome apps and hard to beat, yet we still beat them. Thanks to all Movreak guys and Movreak users that make it possible. This award is for you.

Movreak for Symbian Finally Arrives

After 2 months development, spending more than 400 working hours, tons of coffee and packs of cigarettes, Movreak 1.0 for Symbian^3 finally arrives. Symbian OS introduces certain challenges for us to create a great user experience app, but we finally managed to tweak and fine tune Movreak for Symbian, so it can match its sibling, Movreak for iOS.

Movreak for Symbian introduces a new UI elements, a new Home among other things. Some UI elements are neon-based, inspired by Tron movie. Some backgrounds is in Batik pattern, considering this app is 100% Indonesia app, created by 100% Indonesian developers & company.

SparxUp 2010 Awarding Night

Last night, Saturday Nov 6, 2010, is the SparxUp 2010 awarding night. Movreak is officially crowned as the Best Mobile category, along with FunCrowds.com and PersonaFlag.com.

The event’s started by performance by Mike’s Apartment (jangan samakan dengan “Mike’s Apartment” yg lain), then followed by opening speeches and talkshow. And then…awarding time. Here’s some photos:

Although Movreak is not selected as the best of the best, but selected as the Best Mobile is a great honor for us. Selected among 340 contestants is an achievement, we think. By this award, Movreak has been getting good exposure since few days ago, and hopefully will continue to be more exposed to movie freaks specifically and mobile users generally, and hopefully to investors as well :)

Thanks to SparxUp for organizing this event. Looking forward for the next year event.

TechCrunch is a well known portal offers news about technology and startups. We are really excited that Movreak is covered in the post, along with the others Top 10 and Top 50 Asia’s apps. The post is indeed encouraging us more and more to improve and expand Movreak, either the features, the coverage, and platform support. Hopefully, the post will broaden Movreak’s exposure to the world and invite many important parties to collaborate with us.

Although Movreak can’t make it to Top 10 Asia’s apps, we’re not disappointed. The Top 10 apps are indeed the great and well-known apps. Nevertheless, the post in TechCrunch cures the ‘pain’. Thanks TechCrunch. And congratulation to the Top 10 apps.

Movreak is Voted as One of Asia’s Top 50 Apps

This post is a little bit late, but we still need to announce it.

If you remember this post, we asked your supports to vote Movreak as one of Asia’s Top 50 Apps. The voting was ended on August 31, 2010, within just 10 days since the Movreak was registered in the voting.

On Sept 2, e27 announced the voting result as posted here. We are extraordinary excited to announce that Movreak is voted as one of Asia’s Top 50 Apps. Movreak was selected along with the other 14 apps from Indonesia. We are really excited to find out that there are 30% of Asia’s Top 50 apps are from Indonesia, and they are really good apps. As we know, Koprol is one of them, that is indeed great app, considering it has been acquired by Yahoo.

By that, Movreak can officially use this logo.

Saat ini, user Movreak baru saja melampaui angka 1000. Kami sangat senang dan berterima kasih yang luar biasa kepada semua pengguna, atas kepercayaan untuk menggunakan Movreak, atas semua review-review di fitur User Review, dan semua feedback-nya baik melalui forum Movreak dan forum MacClubIndonesia, email, bahkan SMS.

Seperti kita tahu, jumlah pengguna iOS devices (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad) di Indonesia sudah melebihi angka 50.000. Memang angka 1000 tersebut hanya kurang lebih 2% dari seluruh pemilik iOS devices. Tapi tetap saja, kami berterima kasih dan menganggap hal itu sebagai suatu penghargaan terhadap developer di Indonesia.

Mudah-mudahan seiring waktu, pengguna Movreak akan semakin bertambah sehingga komunitasnya semakin hidup. Review-review film di fitur User Review akan semakin kaya, sehingga menambah referensi kita sebelum menonton sebuah film.

Tentang Ketidaktersediaan Data

Kami menerima beberapa email yang menanyakan tentang ketidaktersediaan data now playing movie atau jam tayang pada Movreak. Untuk menjawab semua pertanyaan tersebut, kami menulis posting ini.

Hal pertama yang ingin kami konfirmasi adalah ketidaktersediaan data tidak berkaitan dengan versi Movreak. Baik v1.0 maupun v2.0 akan berkelakuan sama jika data belum tersedia. Data jadwal berasal dari server kami, dan jika data tersebut belum tersedia di server, maka tidak akan tersedia juga di aplikasi Movreak.

Perlu kami share bagaimana Movreak bekerja. Semua data jadwal yang Anda lihat pada Movreak, bersumber dari 2 cinema company di Indonesia. Sementara untuk data detail dan poster film, kami mengambil dari berbagai sumber, salah satunya IMDB.
